The Shamrock Shake’s 50th anniversary called for something special—so we turned its “golden” milestone into a rainbow-worthy celebration.
Enter the Shamrock Shake Rainbow Lid: a prism plastic top that refracted light to create a rainbow effect, making every shake the gold at the end of the rainbow.
This spec project, pitched to McDonald’s PR AOR, Golin, won our class competition and landed me my first agency job—proving that big ideas can open big doors.

Google Doodle
On the day of the release, we’ll partner with Google and unveil a doodle featuring the new rainbow lids.
Visitors who click on the doodle will automatically search “shamrock shake” and be flooded with news stories and shake history.
Drive-Thru aCTIVATION
Since 70% of McDonald’s sales are ordered at Drive-Thru windows, consumers can drive under rainbow beams on their way to claim a shamrock shake of their own.
